Music legend Barry Manilow to present award honoring legacy of Elizabeth Taylor at Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards

PALM SPRINGS, CA (February 6, 2017) – Pop music icon Barry Manilow will present the Partners for Life Award honoring the legacy of his friend Elizabeth Taylor during the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards February 11, 2017. The award will be accepted by Miss Taylor’s grandchildren, Tarquin and Naomi Wilding.
Lance Bass will be the celebrity MC throughout the evening. Bass, an original member of NSYNC, is a singer, actor, author, and television producer. He has a long relationship with Palm Springs and is looking forward to welcoming attendees at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards.
Kirsten Vangsness will keep the energy high during the evening’s live auction which will feature several unique experiences. Vangsness stars as FBI Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia on the CBS drama series Criminal Minds.

The winner of this priceless package will receive an exclusive tour of Elizabeth Taylor’s personal archives in Beverly Hills, not seen by anyone other than her family and the foundation members. After the tour, lunch at a Beverly Hills restaurant with one or more of Elizabeth Taylor’s grandchildren for a rich conversation about her life and legacy. Included in this package is a limited edition (2 of 2) framed photograph of Elizabeth Taylor by famed photographer, Gary Bernstein.
Exclusive tour of the private Herb Ritts vault and archives in Beverly Hills with the staff of the Herb Ritts foundation. The winner will receive the exclusive tour and a limited edition (#3 of 25) signed, gelatin silver print of Elizabeth Taylor by legendary artist, Herb Ritts.
Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards 2017 Honorees:
Elizabeth Taylor will be honored posthumously with the Partners for Life Award. Miss Taylor is remembered as an early leader and advocate for the care of people living with HIV and AIDS.
Humanitarian Barbara Keller who served as Steve Chase Co-Chair for seven years and continues to serve on the D.A.P. Board of Directors and Co-Chair of 100 Women annual giving program.

Funds raised at the gala will enable Desert AIDS Project’s dedicated team of medical and social service professionals to serve more than 3,600 individuals.
