Matt Moran, Senior Nurse Practitioner Specialist
Matt is an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with specialty, post-graduate education and training in treatment of HIV infection and his clients include HIV and primary care patients. He is also trained as a high-resolution anoscopist/proceduralist and performs anoscopy procedures to find and treat anal dysplasia, which are precancerous lesions in the anal canal. In addition, he offers other in-office procedures such as skin biopsies, incision and drainage of abscesses, cryotherapy, and more.
Matt has been involved in the design and implementation of clinical programs targeting anal dysplasia screening and research—both to assist with the triage and treatment of affected adults, and to provide consultation to other healthcare providers. He has provided leadership in developing clinical protocols necessary for anoscopy research, insight into recruitment strategies for target populations, and has supplied data safety monitoring to Principal Investigators and study statisticians.
Prior to joining DAP in 2012, Matt worked for AIDS Healthcare Foundation in Los Angeles as a Fellow in HIV Medicine with responsibility for direct medical care of patients under the direction of senior attending physicians, and as a Nurse Manager/Nurse Practitioner in their HIV outpatient clinic. In addition, from 2014 to 2016 he held a faculty position at the UCLA School of Nursing where he provided instruction to nurse practitioners. He has a number of peer-reviewed publications.
"I am confident in meeting patients' expectations when it comes to honest communication and understanding their position regarding care."
