Bruce served as a DAP Board member from 2011-2016, rejoining the Board in 2019. His primary work as a Board member consisted of helping to develop the Board's Strategic Planning Process, and creating and developing the Career Building Program. Bruce is honored to be a DAP Board member and through his involvement hopes to honor the many friends and colleagues he has lost over the years to AIDS.
In addition to his support of DAP, Bruce formerly served as Chairman of Health Assessment and Research for Communities (HARC) and as a Board member of the Palm Springs Unified School District Foundation.
Bruce and his husband, Barrett Shepard, split their time between Palm Springs and the Chesapeake Bay Area of Maryland. As an international development economist Bruce has extensive international experience working directly with public officials and civil society organizations in the developing world to conduct legislative and governmental reform. He is currently developing a Center for Global Urban Leadership at the University of Maryland.
