Darrell joined Desert AIDS Project in February 2013. Prior, he was formerly Chief Development Officer and Director of Donor Services at Liberty Hill Foundation in Los Angeles, a nonprofit that seeks to forge a common agenda for equality and opportunity by investing in community leaders who are on the frontlines of change. Before moving to LA in 2007, Tucci held a variety of nonprofit development positions in New York City, including the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. To date, he has raised and assisted in generating more than $100 Million for the non-profit organizations for which he has worked and volunteered.
Tucci is actively engaged in the community. He currently serves on the statewide board of Equality California, the advisory board of DIGICOM and the National Leadership Council of GLSEN. Prior he has been active in LGBT policy and service organizations in Los Angeles and a past board chair of New Jersey Buddies, Northern New Jersey’s foremost resource center for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
