Presented by Bank of America: Dining Out for Life on Thursday, April 28 might win you an entertainment package or free groceries
Posted April 21st, 2011 – Press Releases
For the sixth consecutive year, participating restaurants – 35 this year, from Palm Springs and Cathedral City to Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert – will donate 33% or 50% of their sales on Thursday, April 28 to benefit client services at Desert AIDS Project.
Diners on that day will be entered in a raffle for two prizes. The Grand Prize includes two tickets each to the 2011 Mid-Summer Mixer and the 2012 Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards gala – a value of nearly $1,000. One lucky runner-up will receive a $250 gift card to Ralphs.
“Our friends at Bank of America have been by our sides with Dining Out for Life since we first did it as a fundraiser in 2006. They seem to be our good luck charm because each year, we’ve secured more participating restaurants and raised more money,” said David Brinkman, CEO of Desert AIDS Project. “Some people have already told us they plan to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a participating restaurant on April 28. That’s the kind of support we LOVE to get in meeting our goal of raising at least $100,000!”
D.A.P. is employing a number of social media venues – like Facebook, Foursquare, Yelp, and Twitter – to help volunteer “restaurant ambassadors” fill their chosen restaurants with those who want to help provide HIV/AIDS care and prevention, just by having a meal.
Desert AIDS Project is the organization in our community where people living with HIV and AIDS can receive comprehensive support, including medical care, case management, and social services. D.A.P. also offers free and confidential HIV testing at a number of locations throughout the communities it serves.
