New HIV testing location in Desert Hot Springs
Posted January 10th, 2011 – Press Releases
First Community Baptist Church is the latest partner to join Desert AIDS Project in their commitment to offer free and confidential HIV testing in a service area where the rate of HIV infection is almost three times that of the national average.
D.A.P. will offer HIV testing from 2:00 – 6:00 PM on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, beginning January 12, 2011, at the church located at 66272 First Street in Desert Hot Springs. The free and confidential tests are conducted with a simple swab of the inside of the cheek – no needle or blood draw necessary – and results are available in 20 minutes with post-test counseling. No appointment is necessary. For more information, call Jose de la Cruz at 760-323-2118, ext. 243.
Desert AIDS Project is the organization in our community where people living with HIV and AIDS can receive comprehensive support, including medical care, case management, and social services. D.A.P. also offers free and confidential HIV testing at a number of locations throughout the communities it serves.
