His long-standing ties with the local community, understanding of the Coachella Valley, and collaborative style have helped Russ Russell build bridges that have brought people together in the fight against AIDS. As Vice President and Regional Director for The Private Bank-Desert Region of Union Bank of California, Russ has brought a strategic and financial knowledge to D.A.P. that has been invaluable.

Russ served on the Board of Directors for eight years with two years of service as Board President. At the 2008 Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards gala, Russ was honored with the Partners for Life Award. The award is named for D.A.P.’s very important major donor program that allows us to know that a portion of the budget for Desert AIDS Project will not have to rely on the always-decreasing Ryan White funding.

In addition, Russ has served and continues to serve in leadership capacities for a variety of worthwhile organizations in the Coachella Valley. These include the American Cancer Society, Desert Estates Planning Council, McCallum Theater, College of the Desert Foundation, Friends of the Rancho Mirage Library, and others.
