As a practicing dentist in Palm Springs since 1993, Dr. Jay Jorgensen founded Return A Smile, a nonprofit organization offering dental services to victim of domestic abuse. Serving as its executive director from 1996-2002, Jay organized its board of directors, program, events, and volunteers. He also served on the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce from 2000 to 2004, focusing on fundraising efforts.

Jay has been serving on the board of directors for Desert AIDS Project since 2004 and is currently working to help create a dental clinic to serve the clients of D.A.P.

Dr. Jorgensen is a graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, UT and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. He has also done post-graduate work in Advanced Aesthetics at Baylor University in Waco, TX. Dr. Jorgensen founded the American Academy of Advanced Dentistry, focusing on post-doctorate continuing education courses, and is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
