New Finance Director joins Desert AIDS Project
(PALM SPRINGS, CA – December 21, 2009)
Mary Park, CPA, CMPE has joined the management team at Desert AIDS Project as its new Director of Finance. In addition to holding a Certified Public Accountant license in California for 25 years, Park is a Certified Member in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. She holds both BA – graduating magna cum laude – and MA degrees from Pacific Union College.
“Mary’s professional focus on healthcare and non-profit organizations for the last 20+ years make her a great fit for D.A.P.,” said Executive Director David Brinkman. “Her 17 year service on the Board of a healthcare foundation – 13 of those as President and Chairman – only begins to tell the story of how actively involved she has been with community healthcare service for almost three decades. Her credentials easily separated her from a large pool of other well-qualified candidates.”
Park replaces Abby Ballmer who recently left D.A.P. after more than seven years. “We were very sorry to see Abby leave. She was an excellent Director of Finance and her meticulous attention to detail helped us to be the financially-transparent organization that we must be,” added Brinkman. “We wish her only the best in her newly-married life. If she ever decides to return to the professional world, any employer would be lucky to have her on their staff.”
Desert AIDS Project is the organization in our community where people living with HIV and AIDS can receive comprehensive support, including medical care, case management, and social services. D.A.P. also offers free and confidential HIV testing throughout the communities it serves. For more information call 760-323-2118.
