Toucans event to benefit local HIV/AIDS organizations

(PALM SPRINGS, CA – March 2, 2009)

Toucans Tiki Lounge, 2100 N. Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, will be holding a mixer for HIV-positive men and women from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Wednesday, March 4.

The event will be head lined by the Tony-nominated Sharon McKnight performing her cabaret show with no cover charge. Toucans will offer complimentary bottled water, coffee, and soda, as well as happy hour prices.

Raffle tickets will be sold for prizes donated by local business and individuals. Proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit Desert AIDS Project and PS Pozabilities, an HIV+ men’s social organization.

Desert AIDS Project is the organization in our community where people living with HIV and AIDS can receive comprehensive support, including medical care, case management, and social services. D.A.P. also offers confidential HIV testing at a number of locations and widespread education and prevention services for schools, civic organizations, businesses, churches, and health organizations throughout the communities it serves.
