Betty White Matches $5,000 Donation for D.A.P. Client Pets
(PALM SPRINGS, CA – February 11, 2008)
When Betty White was invited to the recent Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, she was to present a $5,000 check, earmarked for purchase of pet food for D.A.P. clients, from an anonymous donor. But then, she surprised everyone by matching the donation.
“We were delighted to have Ms. White at the event but this was truly a happy surprise,” said David Brinkman, Executive Director of Desert AIDS Project. “As a well-known pet lover herself, Ms. White understands how just how much our furry friends enrich our lives. We’re so pleased that we’ll be able to continue purchasing this food for the pets of our neediest clients.”
