AIDS PROJECT PRESENTS SECOND ANNUAL
WOMEN’S HEALTH FAIR Saturday, October 7,
2006
(PALM SPRINGS, CA – September 21, 2006)
The Women’s Committee of Desert AIDS Project
will present the second annual Women’s Health
Fair on Saturday, October 7 from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. at Desert AIDS Project, 1695 N. Sunrise Way
in Palm Springs.
Participating vendors include: American Cancer
Society, American Red Cross, Art of Surviving,
Community Blood Bank, Costco, Desert AIDS Project’s
100 Women, D.A.P. Client Committee, D.A.P. Education/Prevention/Testing,
Desert Regional Medical Center, Desert Women for
Equality, Gay Associated Youth, Gilda’s
Club, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Riverside County Health
Department, Sunline Transit, Walgreen’s
and Working Wonders.
Demonstrations include: CPR by Institute for Critical
Care Medicine, Jazzercise, Palm Springs Fire and
Police Departments, Teen Theatre Group “Realidades”
and Yoga.
Free testing will include: 20-minute rapid HIV
testing, blood sugar, cholesterol, height/weight
and blood pressure.
Girl Scouts will provide children’s activities
and D.A.P.’s Legislative Action Committee
will be on hand for voter registration. Everyone
who attends will be offered free Starbucks coffee
and lunch. There will be a drawing for door prizes
at 1 p.m. (must be present to win).

Desert AIDS Project at the Greenburg-Peet Family
Center is the organization in our community where
people living with HIV and AIDS can receive comprehensive
services to help manage HIV disease. D.A.P. offers
primary medical care through its Wells Fargo HIV
Health Center. The Project provides widespread
education and prevention services for schools,
civic organizations, businesses, churches and
health organizations throughout the communities
it serves. Anonymous HIV testing is also provided.
