Visit the Community Health & Wellness Festival, an exposition of over 75+ companies and organizations offering products and services that promote a healthy lifestyle. The Festival will offer a wide variety of information, products and services that promote a healthy, fit and aware lifestyle. Visitors will learn about overall health, nutrition and illness prevention, medical treatments, medical and insurance providers, holistic health practices, strength training, running, aerobics, natural foods, vitamins & supplements, massage therapy, athletic and training apparel, skin care, day spas and more. Companies and manufacturers will hand out samples and information, and, when appropriate, offer demonstrations.

Free tests offered - AARP/Walgreens Wellness Tour Bus

The Wellness Tour will offer six free health tests, for a total value of over $100* including:

  1. Total Cholesterol Levels - Tests raise awareness of high blood cholesterol as a risk factor for coronary heart disease, the first step toward modifying lifestyle to reduce risk. 
  2. Blood Pressure - High blood pressure is one of the most common chronic conditions in adults; however, people with high blood pressure usually don't have symptoms, so they often don't know that they have it until it is measured. 
  3. Bone Density - bone density testing is a valuable tool in the diagnosis of osteorporosis and is a fairly accurate predictor of a person's risk of fractures.
  4. Glucose Levels - blood glucose testing is used to screen healthy individuals for diabetes and pre-diabetes because diabetes is a common disease that begins with few symptoms.
  5. Waist Circumference, Body Composition/Body Mass Index - The nation's scales are going up and there raising public awareness about the problem of obesity and the risk of excess is critical.

Desert Regional Medical Center is donating 200 flu shots to the Walk's Health & Wellness Festival. First come, first serve!! Starts at 10:00 am until noon.
