Registering Your Team  |  Motivating Your Team  |  Recruiting Tips and Tricks

A team is any group of coworkers, fellow students, religious/civic organization members, friends, or family members that pre-register, raise money and walk and/or run together on the day of Palm Springs AIDS Walk & Run Saturday, October 23, 2010 Any team that registers 15 or more walkers by October 9, 2010 qualifies for a Team Meeting Station at Palm Springs AIDS Walk & Run.

Forming an AIDS Walk and/or Run Team is a powerful morale builder for all types of companies, schools, and organizations. Palm Springs AIDS Walk & Run is a time for meaningful relationship-building outside of the work or school environment; a great reason for friends and family groups to get together; a way to show support for those fighting HIV/AIDS; and a chance to walk or run in memory of loved ones.

What are a Team Captain's Responsibilities?
A Team Captain’s role is to recruit, inspire, and motivate people to register as well as raise funds. In order to promote team participation, a Team Captain's first task is to distribute Palm Springs AIDS Walk & Run registration information to all potential walkers and/or runners as quickly as possible. After walkers and runners begin to register, following up is essential to maximizing funds raised for the clients of Desert AIDS Project.

> Team Captain Guide (888KB pdf)
This has all you need to start a successful team. There is also helpful advice about how to raise money that is useful for everyone whether they are part of a team or not.

Can a Team Have Both Walkers and Runners?
Absolutely! Your Team can be a combination of both walkers and runners for that day. Team members will take part in all the photo opportunities, entertainment and social team building activities that day. No one gets left behind, and everyone will rejoin the team back at Ruth Hardy Park for an afternoon of entertainment and activities.
